Jewellery Restoration
At Sarah Beth we can help with those vintage and treasured pieces of jewellery that hold memories and emotions special to you.
Whether it be resizing cleaning or stone replacement, from setting the smallest diamond to a solder on a broken chain link your jewellery will be in good hands.
Before that work is carried out - There are lots of things to consider
How old is the Piece?
If a piece is over 100 years old it is considered antique. As you can imagine this would mean that many of the processes used to create those pieces can be different to today. Repairing and restoring such an item of jewellery requires careful thought and skill.
How will it affect the value?
Do you want to wear it again?
Is it too fragile to repair?
What will the cost be?
The answer to all these questions will differ according to the piece of jewellery in question.
Where to Begin
A good place to start would be to pop it in to an expert Jeweller that has an experienced goldsmith. They will be able to cast their well-trained eye over it and give you an opinion about what is best.
At Sarah Beth we have experts that can help with all those decisions, we work in a non-pressured environment, we will give free advice and suggestions about going forward. Once you have decided, a quote will be completed before any work is carried out.
Other Options
Another option with jewellery that has been handed down is to have it remodelled. Maybe you love the gemstones but not the design, or its in yellow gold and you would like it made in white gold to match your other pieces.
You could have the precious stones made into a ring, necklace, or earrings, also using other pieces of scrap jewellery to help with the cost.
Although this process has a cost better to get a quote and advice to help with that decision, and that the jewellery is being used rather than sat in a drawer gathering dust.
We understand how important jewellery is, and the emotions special pieces carry with them.
