The St Edwards Crown

The St Edwards crown is used for the coronation at the crowning moment. Made from 22 carat gold and weighing nearly 5lbs, this historic piece is adorned with 444 stones. Created in 1661 for KIng Charles II it is used only once in a monachs reign, on the day of investiture.

Amethyst is found in many parts of the world, including Brazil, Uruguay, Russia, and Canada. The largest amethyst crystals ever found were discovered in Brazil, some weighing up to 100 pounds.
